Merrowman

Here is another mask in the same vein as Grandfather Ogden, but this one is a spirit from beneath the waves. At work, we have decided that our Halloween event is going to be inspired by folk horror, so I am now thinking that I can use these masks as part of that event.

At the moment, I’m calling this one Merrowman, but I expect that a more solid identity will emerge over time.

The mask is made of papier mache, with tin foil forming most of the shapes underneath, with latex tentacles and seaweed. The mermaid’s purse and shells are all real, mostly combed from the beaches around Christchurch and Bournemouth.
