Corpse Carrier

Teig O’Kane was a layabout and general douchebag, and refuses to marry a young woman he gets pregnant. Then one night he encounters a group of fairies carrying a corpse. ‘Isn’t it lucky we met you, Teig O’Kane’, they say, and force him to carry the corpse and find a churchyard that will let him bury it. If he can’t find a grave for the corpse by the first cock crow of the morning then he’ll be stuck with the corpse on his back forever. Off he goes, and the corpse starts talking to him and offering him advice. Teig reaches the first graveyard but the body in the fresh dug hole refuses to allow another in, and he finds the same in each graveyard he visits. It’s getting closer and closer to morning, and it seems like he’ll never find anywhere until the corpse finally directs him to an open coffin. Teig is finally rid of his burden, and is thereafter a changed man.
