Look at this jolly fellow. I’m really pleased with this painting, which I think actually captures the likeness – and an expression, and a spirit – of the subject, who is my brother in law.

It took about an hour, and I’m not going to do anything more to him. His unfinished, sketchy state seems to perfectly fit his jaunty demeanour.
