As part of the Unlock Your Creativity Course, I recently did some loose fun illustrations of animals, to play around and free up my creativity. It was fun, but felt a bit like I was staying too safe, which is not the aim of the exercise. So I tried again, looking at insects this time.
The idea is to not look at the page while drawing it, and then go back to the picture to adjust and amend it to give it a bit more depth or interest. I was drawing the animals from memory or imagination, but I confess I did draw these insects from photos, but still not looking at the page. I kind of like the looseness and the insect shapes together.
