Carrigaphooca

Here is a simple illustration depicting a castle in Ireland near where my family come from, called Carrigaphooca, or the rock of the Pooka. My grandparents would go to dances here in their youth.

The Pooka is a sinister creature of Irish folklore that can shapeshift. It’s often depicted as a horse, and can carry people off on wild adventures.

I thought about including a horse in the illustration, but I knew I wasn’t up to the task so I thought I’d just leave it as it is.
