Here are the first attempts at models for one of my diorama ideas, of a scarecrow hanging from a maypole. The crucifixion imagery is intended, but not to make light of anything, but because myth and folklore are full of stories of death and resurrection. In the English tradition I think John Barleycorn is a good example, and it’s that sort of spirit that I’m trying to communicate, with a sort of folk horror vibe.
