A while ago I signed up to a domestika course about watercolour travel journaling, which I’m not following quite as strictly as some of the other courses I’ve done but it did inspire me to do some watercolours for my recent family holiday and our Eurovision trip to Turin.
For the final project of the course I decided to look back over a lifetime of holidays and pick out a few landscapes and features from the past to paint.
Here are a small handful – a Templar Church in Valencia; the Golden Gate Bridge in the USA where I visited my then-girlfriend (now wife); and the Gothic town of Whitby, which was one of our favourite ever holidays. I hope to do more.
I definitely haven’t found my comfort zone yet with either watercolours or with landscapes/cityscapes.
