My end of year review was a fun look back, but I wanted to start the year with a little project that promised life and hope, the promise of spring, to get us through the dark depths of winter, and of this new national lockdown.
Here are some blobby little seed bomb sculptures, made of compost, seeds, clay powder and water, shaped vaguely into some fun monstrous critters. There are plenty of abandoned, concreted semi-industrial areas around where I live, along the edges of trainlines, powerplants, business parks and housing estates. A bit of guerrilla seeding can only serve to bring a little flash of joy into these strange and sorry liminal areas.
It feels like a positive thing to emerge from the darkness of 2020 with new life , ready to watch it grow over the coming years.
