Like every other writer and artist since Victorian times I have been playing with the idea of exploring new versions of Alice in Wonderland.

I’m also finding it impossible to settle on a story or approach for the Introduction to Children’s Illustration course that I have been procrastinating about for ages and Alice is a slightly obvious but rich source of inspiration to maybe get some momentum going.

I can’t really fix a story in my head, so for now this is just an image of the Mad Hatter telling a new story about another of Alice’s adventures. It’s just pencil, I guess just as a warmup exercise for the whole project. I’m not sure what medium I want to use going forward.
