Mary is the third character in my scarecrow sculpture series. I wanted something that had the vibe of the Mari Lwyd figure of Welsh folk culture, but swapped out the horse head for a ewe skull, it seemed more like the sort of thing that might be lying around on a farm.

She’s turned out I think to have the feel of a Skeksis from Dark Crystal, or a Vorlon from Babylon 5, both are suitably otherworldly.

Mary isn’t as evil as she looks, she’s merely curious. If you leave a crack in your curtain at nighttime, it’s likely that she’ll be looking in.
