Happy St Patrick’s Day readers. And in these strange days, a bit of Irish cheer would not go amiss.
To celebrate I have made another linocut print, this time depicting the tale of Sinann at Connla’s well, from Irish mythology.
Sinann seems to have broken some kind of taboo by seeking the highest and most magical degree of poetic knowledge, causing a great wave to consume her and flow across the land, creating the River Shannon.
Unfortunately I think some of my lines were too thin and the definition hasn’t come out as I had hoped, or maybe I was just too heavy handed with the printing, I haven’t done enough to know where I’m going wrong.
