I’m trying to improve my drawing skills by following the exercises from a book called Drawing on the Right Side of Your Brain. After a couple of upside down drawings, the next task is to draw the wrinkles of your scrunched up hand without looking at the page, but really looking hard at the hand. The picture is obviously not meant to be accurate, the idea is to train your eye to really look at every detail in every wrinkle. I think the picture is quite lovely.
And then I followed it up with a few ‘portraits’ in the same vein, captured during zoom meetings, so possibly not with quite the same degree of attention.
