This is my first attempt at a picture for the latest course I’ve started – Surrealistic Fineliner Illustration. I’m finding the Pop Up Course a bit tough to keep up with, so I thought it might help to do another one alongside it.

The idea is to think about light and shadow. I think it may take me a while to get used to this kind of pen work.

Generally I’m quite pleased with it, although I’m sure it’s very roughly done, and doesn’t really attempt to capture the texture of the skin. I think maybe that’ll be a future lesson.
