I hate this bit. I’m so inexperienced with moulds and have had so many hiccups and disasters with making them that I’m paranoid. I also always just launch in without really thinking or planning, and suddenly you’ve got this plaster that’s rapidly thickening and you’ve got to come up with a solution to a problem you never realised you’d have.
Anyway, the mould is made, for good or ill. And I tried a very different technique. Rather than build the mould up around the sculpture I have poured it into a box and let it flow around old Jenny. I’ll be really disappointed if this one doesn’t work out.
